Client Shipping Checklist

Step 1: Before You Buy or Ship

• Confirm what goods you are shipping.
• Check if the goods are allowed or restricted in the destination country.
• Ask Charius Freight Logistics for shipping advice, estimated cost, and the best shipping method (air or sea).
• Agree on Incoterms (EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, etc.).

Step 2: Prepare Your Documents

Make sure these documents are ready and correct:

Commercial Invoice

• Seller and buyer details
• Description of goods
• Quantity and price
• Total value and currency
• Country of origin

Packing List

• Number of cartons or pallets
• Weight (gross and net)
• Dimensions
• Packaging type

ID / Company Registration (Importer)

• Personal ID or passport (individuals)
• Company documents and tax number (businesses)

Import Permit (if required)

Step 3: Cargo Packing and Labeling

• Goods are well packed and protected.
• Boxes are strong and sealed.
• Fragile goods are marked clearly.
• Labels show shipper name, consignee name, destination country, and handling marks (Fragile / This Side Up).

Step 4: Shipping Method Check

Air Freight

• Weight and dimensions confirmed.
• No prohibited items (batteries, liquids, chemicals without approval).
• Air Waybill (AWB) issued.

Sea Freight

• FCL or LCL confirmed.
• Container size agreed (20FT / 40FT).
• Bill of Lading (B/L) issued.

Step 5: Customs Clearance (Destination)

• Appoint Charius Freight Logistics or your clearing agent.
• Provide importer details, customs power of attorney, and supporting permits (if any).
• Prepare funds for import duty, VAT/taxes, and port/terminal charges.

Step 6: Delivery

• Delivery address confirmed.
• Trucking arranged (port/airport to warehouse or doorstep).
• Goods received and inspected.

• Batteries and electronics
• Used goods (clothes, machinery)
